The Broker division predominantly assists professional insurance intermediaries in meeting the general insurance needs of their clients in the areas of commercial, personal and fleet insurance. The Corporate Partnership division is the largest supplier of 'own brand' insurances in the UK and traditionally a large part of this business has come from banks and building societies. The services provided include specialist underwriting and bespoke insurance solutions. Household insurance remains the mainstay of the product range. The Direct and Retail division is for clients who choose to arrange their insurance directly with insurers. Global Risks comprises of Global which provides a blend of risk transfer and risk management services, Engineering which provides inspection and insurance services in the engineering are, Marine insurance which is one of the largest cargo and hull insurance companies and Reinsurance which provides expertise in property, engineering and financial risks reinsurance. This business also includes the groups interests in pools for atomic risks, onshore oil and gas risks and the international aviation business. Investment management, whose main activity is the management of investment portfolios on behalf of the group's life, general insurance and unit trust companies. Property investments manages the group's direct property investments. Fund management is responsible for the marketing and development activities of the trust operations.
