Dish the dirt on agentsDespite the downturn, the Estate & Letting Agent Awards 2010 are already attracting entries at record levels this year - this national scheme, known as the Estas, is sponsored by Estate Agent Today... The scheme is unique because the winners are decided by votes from agents’ customers. Nat Daniels, publisher of Estate Agent Today, said: "We are extremely proud to be sponsoring the Estas. In our view, these are the only awards that really matter, because they are judged by the people who count - the public. Any agent looking to build reputation can do no better than to take part in this scheme." This year sees some key new features including online vote tracking and benchmarking tools. Every agent receives a tailored press pack and can use the awards logo in all marketing materials highlighting their commitment to high levels of customer service. As always, Client Feedback Reports are sent to every agent who enters. Simon Brown, managing director of Awards For Business which runs the national scheme, said: "Customer feedback is crucial to any agency and the Client Feedback Report we send to each entrant provides a valuable insight into what clients really think of the agency’s service levels. Agencies can see how their service levels compare to other firms in their region and against the national average. "In the sort of competitive market we are in and likely to experience next year, clients are being more selective than ever when appointing an agent. If agents can demonstrate their focus on high quality customer service, it gives them an advantage in that selection process." In February, up to 280 agents from across 14 regions will be shortlisted and the winners will be announced in April. Phil Spencer will host the lavish awards luncheon and presentation which will be held at the five-star Marriott Hotel in Mayfair, London. Brown says: "Spring 2010 will be a key time and shortlisted agents will be in a strong position to make the most of any upturn in the market. Winners will also be in a great position to hold and perhaps increase their fee levels." Brown also announced HomeLet, providers of referencing, rent guarantee and insurance solutions to the lettings industry, as a mainline sponsor. "We are very selective when it comes to brand association with the Estas," said Brown. "Like us, they are market leaders and just like our member agents are committed to delivering outstanding service." John Boyle, managing director of HomeLet, said: "We’re delighted to be supporting the 2010 Estate & Letting Agent Awards - especially because the awards are voted for and judged by the most important people in any property transaction - the buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants. "We know that 2009 has been a tough year for the property market, but this ceremony will reward those who have excelled in difficult market conditions by focusing on providing a high quality service." The Estas are also supported for the fifth year running by RICS.
