BLUFFTON, S.C., Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Every month of the year has some sort of month-long observance, ranging from awareness of a serious issue to observances that are downright silly. October stands out for many across the country as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To support the cause, one Mercedes-Benz dealership is sponsoring a Bluffton breast cancer walk and encouraging the community to attend. 

The event is the 8th annual Rockin' The Pink Breast Cancer Walk, a 3-mile walk in Bluffton that is hosted by the Bluffton Firefighters Auxiliary. The goal of this event is to raise money for local organizations specializing in breast health and to help those fighting breast cancer. 

This year's walk takes place on Saturday, Oct. 14, beginning and ending at the Red Cedar Elementary School, 10 Box Elder St. in Bluffton. Registration is at 8 a.m., while the opening ceremonies for the walk start at 9 a.m. Music, food and a silent auction will follow. 

As a sponsor of Rockin' The Pink Breast Cancer Walk, Mercedes-Benz of Hilton Head is encouraging community members to join them in this fight. The dealership will provide two Mercedes-Benz vehicles for any breast cancer survivors who may not be able to complete the walk and will be participating themselves with a team of walkers to support the cause. Those interested can register the morning of the event.
