From Executive Producers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, Geoffrey Rush Will Star as Elder Albert Einstein and Johnny Flynn as Young Albert Einstein

10-Episode Series to Premiere April 2017

National Geographic releases a sneak peek trailer of the network’s first scripted anthology series, GENIUS. The premiere season, directed by Ron Howard, will focus on scientist Albert Einstein and will be based on Walter Isaacson’s critically acclaimed book “Einstein: His Life and Universe,” adapted by writer Noah Pink. The upcoming series will be discussed as part of the National Geographic TCA Panel at the Langham Huntington in Pasadena on Friday, Jan. 13, at 1:20 p.m. PT.

The reel takes a glimpse into how an imaginative, rebellious patent clerk, who couldn’t get a job or doctorate, unlocked the mysteries of the atom and the universe. Academy Award-, Golden Globe-, Emmy- and Tony-winning actor Geoffrey Rush (“The Kings Speech,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Shine”) will star as Albert Einstein in the first-ever scripted series for the network.
