Calian Technologies Ltd. (TSX:CTY) is pleased to announce the appointment of George Weber to Calian's Board of Directors effective immediately.

Mr. Weber offers more than 35 years of executive leadership including, Canadian Red Cross Society (1973 - 1992) culminating in the position of Secretary General and CEO, Secretary General and CEO of the International Federation of Red Cross / Red Crescent Societies (1992 - 2000), National Executive Director and CEO of the Canadian Dental Association (2000 - 2007). He is now the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group.

Mr. Weber received his Education and Master of Arts degrees from McGill University in 1970/74 and has attended the Harvard Advanced Management Program. Mr. Weber is also a Certified Director with the Institute of Corporate Directors in Canada.
