CINCINNATI, Nov. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vantiv, Inc.
(NYSE: VNTV), a leading provider of payment processing services and
related technology solutions for merchants and financial
institutions of all sizes, today announced its employee support for
the Blessings in a Backpack program benefiting Symmes Elementary
school. The Blessing in a Backpack program assists children

"This is a great way to give back to our community," said
Charles Drucker, President and CEO
at Vantiv. "As a company, one of our core values is 'doing
the right thing'. We are committed to supporting the
communities in which we work and live. This year, one of our
team member groups – the Vantiv Women's Business Network –
has chosen to support a program that ensures our children are
properly nourished to better succeed while at school."
Blessing in a Backpack is Feeding the Future of America
by ensuring school children can focus on their studies rather than
worrying about where they will get their next meal. Each
Friday, the Blessing in a Backpack program sends children home with
food that ensures they are fed during the weekend. Research
has shown that children who are properly nourished perform better
at school. Better test scores, improved reading skills,
positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance have
all been attributed to the success of this program. Nearly
62,000 children in 437 schools in 42 states and 3 countries are
currently being fed by Blessings in a Backpack.
"It's been a pleasure to work with the Vantiv Women's Business
Network on this program," said Anne Van
Kirk, principal at Symmes Elementary School. "Every
student deserves an equal chance for success, and ensuring each
child is correctly nourished so that he or she can learn
effectively is critical. That's why we appreciate the
willingness of Vantiv to support our school children, Sycamore Schools, and the Symmes Township community."
The Vantiv Women's Business Network has already provided more
than $8,000 in donations to the
program and more than 20 volunteers are actively involved in its
logistics efforts.
During 2012, Vantiv employees supported a variety of outreach
initiatives such as packing emergency supplies for flood and
hurricane victims. Vantiv is an active member of the United
Way Campaign and the Greater Cincinnati ArtsWave program. In
2010, Vantiv implemented a Community Service program where
employees are encouraged to give back and support the communities
in which they live, work and do business. Full-time employees
are given up to eight hours of normal work time each year to
participate in a community service activity of their personal
choice. To date, employees in 2012 have given more than
1,300 hours to individual activities in their local communities,
including schools and parishes.
Vantiv Corporate Headquarters is located in Symmes Township, Ohio.
