Business management solutions company Sage Group PLC (SGE.LN) and Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) are in talks about a strategic alliance that would put the U.K.-listed company's accounting software for small businesses on the U.S. company's Azure cloud platform, the Financial Times reported on its website Wednesday, citing people familiar with the plan.

Sage declined to comment, while Microsoft wasn't available for comment, the FT said.
