The Japanese yen edged sharply lower across the board on Tuesday morning in New York as an upbeat U.S. manufacturing survey results for April fueled risk-appetite.

As of 10:10 am ET, the yen was trading at 80.10 against the US dollar, 88.39 against the Swiss franc, 129.92 against the pound, 106.16 against the euro, 81.15 against the Canadian dollar, 82.73 against the Australian dollar and 65.15 against the New Zealand dollar.



NYSE and AMEX quotes are delayed by at least 20 minutes.
