At 4.30 am ET Friday, U.K. producer price data for March is due from the Office for National Statistics. Ahead of the data, the pound dropped against other major currencies.

At 4:25 am ET, the pound was worth 0.8267 against the euro, 128.77 against the yen, 1.4545 against the franc and 1.5922 against the greenback.
