Intuit Inc.:

WHAT:

Teed off in Seattle

Test your golfing skills at downtown Seattle’s only outdoor driving range – at least for a day. Former PGA tour player Jeff Coston and Intuit GoPayment are playing partners offering a unique experience for duffers of all levels: Get a free golf ball while supplies last, hit a bucket for $3, or improve your game with a 10-minute lesson for just $5 for those who pay with plastic.

Coston, a nationwide tour winner, is the all-time leading golf tournament winner in the history of the Pacific Northwest and founder of the Jeff Coston Golf Academy. He’ll demonstrate how small businesses can improve their game by using GoPayment, Intuit’s mobile credit card solution, to accept payments via his smartphone for the lessons he gives.

To help more small business owners score a hole in one and maximize sales on the go, Intuit will give away its GoPayment mobile credit card reader hardware while supplies last. It plugs into the audio jack of a mobile device and lets anyone who sells goods or services swipe and process credit cards so they never miss a sale.

WHY:

Quit ‘Putting’ Around

A recent Intuit survey found that small businesses in the West are in the rough, reporting an average of $6,100 a month in outstanding payments, and creating a $73,200 annual strain on cash flow. Timely payments are critical for small business growth and accepting payment by credit cards improves cash flow, keeping them on par. In a 2012 survey, more than two-thirds of GoPayment customers new to credit card processing said they scored sales they would not have gotten without GoPayment.

WHO:

A Pro Who Drives for Success

Coston has more than 35 years of experience playing professional golf. He built and has maintained a renowned heated facility in Blaine, Wash., as part of the Semiahmoo Resort for the past 18 years, where he coaches all ages.   Coston will be available for press interviews on April 16 to discuss how he can take his business almost anywhere with GoPayment by processing credit card payments on his mobile device.

WHEN:

Tuesday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

WHERE:

2nd Avenue and University Street, Seattle
