WATERLOO, Iowa, April 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American
Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, is now offering
daily round-trip service between Waterloo Regional Airport and
Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Eagle will operate the route
with 44-seat Embraer jets.
"Commercial air service is an important factor for Iowa businesses and cities. Economic
development thrives when businesses are growing or, decide to
remain in a city. So, too, does job growth hinge on a city's
economic development. For these reasons, I am pleased
that American Eagle will provide air service to Chicago, one of the best hubs for Iowa business travelers. I was a strong
advocate for expanding the Essential Air Service Program to
accommodate new cities and to support American Eagle Service to
Chicago, which is so beneficial to
Iowa," said Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA).
"We're delighted to provide service from Waterloo to our cornerstone hub in
Chicago," said Charles Schubert, American's Vice President –
Network Planning for American's regional network. "This schedule
will allow Waterloo area residents
to make a day trip to Chicago for
business or connect through this key international gateway to
destinations throughout the American Airlines and
oneworld® global network."
