XI'AN, China, March 8,
2012 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ --China Green Agriculture,
Inc. (NYSE: CGA) ("CGA" or the "Company"), a producer and
distributor of humic acid based compound fertilizers, blended
fertilizers, organic compound fertilizers, slow-release
fertilizers, highly-concentrated water-soluble fertilizers and
mixed organic-inorganic compound fertilizers and agricultural
products, such as top-grade fruits, vegetables, flowers and colored
seedlings through its wholly-owned subsidiaries in China, today announced one of the Company's
subsidiaries in China, Shaanxi
TechTeam Jinong Humic Acid Product Co., Ltd. ("Jinong"), was
selected by the China Humic Acid Industry Association ("CHAIA" or
the "Association") as the top manufacturer of the humic acid
anti-drought fertilizer products. The Association also recommended
Jinong's humic acid liquid fertilizer products to the public as the
model anti-drought fertilizer products.
Since the beginning of 2012, there has been little or no
precipitation in Yunnan, a
southwestern province in China.
Such severe weather triggered a widespread drought and was
threatening the yield of wheat crops in Yunnan. To confront this drought, the
government stepped up its efforts to mitigate the adverse effect of
the dry weather to agricultural production in Yunnan. As a part of these efforts, the
Association, a nationwide non-profit organization sponsored by the
government that functions as the humic acid industry's
self-regulatory body, recommended the humic acid fertilizer's
anti-drought and water conservation features and selected top six
humic acid anti-drought fertilizer manufacturers to protect
agricultural production.
The Association's opinion to select top manufacturers and
recommend their products was based on its extensive and thorough
research on and appraisal of hundreds of fertilizer manufacturers
in China. Among the six humic acid
fertilizer manufacturers selected by the Association, Jinong ranked
the first. The Association recommended the enlisted six humic acid
fertilizer manufacturers and their humic acid anti-drought
fertilizer products to the Ministry of Water Resources, the
Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Science and Technology,
State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and other
professional drought relief institutions, such as China National
Agricultural Technology Extension and Service Center.
"I am very pleased that the Association selected Jinong as the
top manufacturer of humic acid anti-drought fertilizer products,
and recommended Jinong's humic acid fertilizer products to fight
drought," said Mr. Tao Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
China Green Agriculture. "In view of the ongoing severe weather in
Yunnan, we will actively deliver
our humic acid anti-drought fertilizer products to the farmers in
Yunnan. To better serve our
customers, we are committed to expediting our development process
and shortening the roll-out period for anti-drought products to
help relieve the plight of the farmers in the drought affected
areas."
