The second estimates of the fourth quarter U.K. GDP is due from the Office for National Statistics at 4:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the pound rose against other major currencies.

At 4:25 am ET, the pound was worth 1.5791 against the greenback, 127.26 against the yen, 0.8484 against the euro and 1.4218 against the franc.
