Euro Extends Uptrend Against Most Majors

During New York afternoon deals on Thursday, the euro advanced further against most of its major counterparts.

After showing a slight weakness in early morning session, the euro edged up against the British pound and the US dollar in afternoon deals today. As of now, the euro is trading near new multi-month highs of 0.8499 against the sterling and 1.3374 versus the greenback from early lows of 0.8456 and 1.3271, respectively. The euro closed yesterday's North American session at 0.8458 against the pound and 1.3251 versus the dollar.

Extending its previous session's upward trading, the euro traded further higher versus the Japanese yen in today's New York afternoon session. The euro is presently trading near 107.02 versus the yen, which is the highest value since November 9, 2011 from Wednesday's close of 106.41.
