Private equity firms including KKR & Co L.P. (KKR) and TPG Capital are planning potential bids for U.S.-listed AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc. (ASIA), the Reuters news agency reported Tuesday on its website, citing unnamed sources with direct knowledge of the matter.
The deal, expected to be worth more than $1 billion, may also see bids emerge from strategic rivals such as Amdocs Ltd. (DOX), Oracle Corp. (ORCL), IBM Corp. (IBM) and Ericsson (ERIC), which may be interested in the company's billing software, the report said, citing separate unnamed sources.
No bidding deadline has been set, the sources said in the report. AsiaInfo-Linkage, KKR, Morgan Stanley and TPG declined to comment, the report said.
