The Japanese yen weakened against other major currencies in the Asian session on Wednesday.

The yen declined to 126.27 against the pound, 105.84 against the euro, 87.67 against the franc, 80.26 against the loonie and a new 6-1/2-month low of 80.01 against the greenback.
