The Japanese yen traded further lower against the US dollar and the British pound in New York afternoon deals on Friday. At 1:00 pm ET, the yen dropped to fresh multi-month lows of 79.45 against the greenback and 125.81 versus the sterling, compared to Thursday's closing values of 78.95 and 124.75, respectively.
