The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) is home to soft commodities trading

 

Softs

Cocoa, coffee, sugar and cotton are commonly known as Softs and are largely produced in countries such as Brazil and the Ivory Coast, where the climate is tropical. These ever-changing climates govern the harvest, supply and therefore trading price.
