“We are honored to have KFC recognized as one of the ‘100 Best
Places to Work’ in Vietnam,” said Pornchai Thuratum, General
Director, KFC Vietnam. “This honor recognizes the hard work of our
passionate restaurant team members who provide delicious food and
great service to our customers daily.”
The “100 Best Places to Work” survey was conducted across 500
companies with 15,578 participants representing 24 different
occupations in Vietnam. The survey included in-depth interviews and
qualitative and quantitative research to obtain objective opinions
from participants.
“Congratulations to KFC Vietnam for this honor and the
distinction of being the only quick-service restaurant brand on the
Top 100 list,” said Micky Pant, Chief Executive Officer, KFC. “KFC
Vietnam’s recognition reflects how the franchise leadership team
has done an outstanding job investing its energy and talent to
build a successful business and culture across the country. We have
a strong, growing business in Vietnam with franchise partners who
understand the local market.”
Vietnam is a key emerging market for KFC’s parent company, Yum!
Brands. With a growing middle class and a large, youthful
population of more than 90 million people, Yum! Brands believes
there is a long runway for growth in Vietnam. KFC entered Vietnam
in 1997 as the country’s first quick-service restaurant brand.
Today there are 137 KFC franchise restaurants located in prime
locations in approximately 20 cities throughout the country. In
addition, Pizza Hut opened its first restaurant in Vietnam in 2007
and today has 53 franchise locations.
Yum! Brands is the worldwide leader in emerging markets like
Vietnam with more than 15,000 restaurants and a nearly two-to-one
advantage over the nearest competition. The Company opened over
2,030 new restaurants outside the U.S. in 2014 with 80 percent of
the development occurring in emerging markets. With only two
restaurants per million people in the top 10 emerging markets,
compared to 57 restaurants per million in the U.S., Yum! believes
it is on the ground floor of global growth.
Yum! Brands, Inc., based in Louisville, Kentucky, has over
41,000 restaurants in more than 125 countries and territories. Yum!
is ranked #216 on the Fortune 500 List with revenues of over $13
billion. In 2014 Yum! was named among the top 100 Corporate
Citizens by Corporate Responsibility Magazine and one of the Aon
Hewitt Top Companies for Leaders in North America. The Company's
restaurant brands – KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell – are the global
leaders of the chicken, pizza and Mexican-style food categories.
Outside the United States, the Yum! Brands system opens over five
new restaurants per day on average, making it a leader in
international retail development.
