BAODING, China, July 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Yingli Green
Energy Holding Company Limited (NYSE: YGE) ("Yingli Solar" or "Yingli"), one of the world's
leading solar panel manufacturers, today announced that its wholly
owned subsidiary, Yingli Green Energy Australia Pty. Ltd. (Yingli
Australia) has partnered with Its Time Foundation to power six
remote schools in the Fiji Islands with Yingli's solar PV systems.
Its Time Foundation is a charity organization focusing on
providing reliable renewable energy to education facilities, which
have limited access to electricity. They aim at creating healthier
learning environments and educating the community on the benefits
of reducing their carbon emissions. Through Yingli Solar's high efficiency and durable solar
panels, these systems will create savings in excess of $30,000 annually for these remote schools in the
Pacific Islands of Fiji.
The founder of Its Time Foundation, Rob
Edwards selected these schools based on their lack of
accessibility to reliable power from the grid. By providing
renewable electricity, Yingli's solar PV systems allow these remote
schools to utilize more savings on education resources instead of
exhausting on generator fuel and kerosene costs. The students and
teachers now can charge laptops, photocopy schools exams, supply
lighting to teachers' quarters, where previously they were using
power from the school generator for a limited time in the evenings.
Now with Yingli's solar PV systems, these schools have a safe and
clean environment with a steady energy supply.
"There is no compromise to be considered when developing a
solution for the progressive education for the children. The
cornerstone of a strong education for these students and staff is
the inclusion of a renewable power and lighting solution, which is
supplied to every school," commented Mr. Rob Edwards, the Founder of Its Time Foundation.
"Our ability to deliver this vision is considering only reputable
and quality technologies from leading brands, and ensuring that the
longevity of this solution continues to drive possibility for the
generations ahead."
"Climate change is the most urgent threat facing the Pacific
Islands. Replacing dependent power sources such as kerosene and
fuel generators with clean, green, affordable solar energy will
create a safer and sustainable environment and ultimately improve
the lives of communities in this region," said Mr. Daman Cole,
Managing Director of Yingli Australia. "We are delighted that Its
Time Foundation has delivered these solar PV systems for remote
schools, demonstrating to students, staff and the community that
clean energy can be a stable part of their future. These
installations will help students enjoy a learning environment that
powers both their school and their minds."
