Exxon Mobil Confirms Completion of Maintenance at Calif Refinery

By Rose Marton-Vitale Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) on Wednesday said planned maintenance at its oil refinery in Torrance, Calif., has been completed and the plant is now operating at normal rates. Several units, including a hydrogen unit, a coker and a pretreater were part of the maintenance plan that began June 4. The company reported on July 26 flaring at the 155,000-barrels-a-day refinery to California environmental regulators. Traders doing business in the region said the flaring was associated with the start-up process.
