Wells Fargo EGS – Philippines has a long-term association with
the schools and institutions working in tandem with partner NGOs.
“We have a robust annual calendar of community programs. What makes
Fundraising Week unique is the fact that it gets our team members
involved in a fun way for a social cause. We initiated this event
in 2013, with the objective of raising money for the government
school that we support throughout the year,” said Vishnupriya
Saksena, head of corporate sustainability.
Over the years, the Fundraising Week has become an extremely
popular event with the atmosphere turning into a festival of sorts
with a lot of energy and enthusiasm shown by the entire
organization. The effort was part of the Fundraising Week from May
4-8, which Wells Fargo has marked since 2013. “Our objective is to
get our team members involved in a fun way for a social cause.
Driven by the spirit to give for a cause that is close to our
hearts, our team members come up with very creative ways of
generating funds. While it makes significant impact on the
communities we live in, the week-long event also strengthens the
commitment of our team members to give back to the community we are
part of,” Saksena added.
Growing in magnitude over the years, the 2014 Fundraising Week
saw team members collecting more than Php 100,000. This year,
services offered by team members included selling of pre-loved
items, song requests, and culinary efforts. The funds raised were
handed over to the partner NGOs and were used for various
activities like library improvements, construction of bookshelves
and classroom screens.
While volunteerism encourages team member participation, the
Fundraising Week also has an enhanced value proposition of being a
platform to showcase skills that a team member wouldn’t be able to
otherwise showcase in the day-to-day role. The Fundraising Week is
also an important part of Wells Fargo’s commitment to volunteerism.
Globally, more than 64,000 Wells Fargo team members volunteered
more than 1.7 million hours in 2014, and the company has organized
Wells Fargo Volunteer Chapters in 10 countries around the
world.
Social Responsibility at Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo’s social responsibility efforts are focused in five
strategic areas: ethical business practices, product and service
responsibility, team member engagement, environmental stewardship,
and community investment. These areas form the foundation of our
CSR strategy, and are brought to life through our initiatives. As a
reinforcement of this belief and commitment, Wells Fargo Enterprise
Global Services LLC - Philippines continuously works towards
ensuring that while doing business, environmental, social and
economic needs are part of the company’s everyday decisions.

to help us identify and decide how Wells Fargo should respond to
community needs. Our team members pledge their time and money, to
teach, help build schools, work on environmental projects, raise
funds and serve in nonprofit organizations. The work is driven by
the objective of genuine social impact brought about by
contributing monetary resources and time in the form of team member
volunteering.
