Focus on expansion of capital markets and advisory products in Canada

Wells Fargo Securities, the capital markets and investment banking business of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC), announced today that Darin Deschamps and Sandra Taube Godard have been named co-heads* of Wells Fargo Securities Canada. Deschamps, who was recently hired, and Taube Godard, who joined in 2013, are based in Toronto and will be responsible for partnering across Wells Fargo to deliver the full breadth of Wells Fargo Securities capabilities to clients. Deschamps will also serve as head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets (part of Wells Fargo Securities) in Canada.

Deschamps has over 25 years of experience in investment banking, most recently serving as deputy head of Investment Banking and head of the Financial Institutions Group and Financial Sponsors Coverage for National Bank Financial Inc. Prior to that, he worked at TD Securities and Credit Suisse. He holds a Masters of Business Administration, graduating with distinction from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and an Honors Business Administration degree (gold medalist) from the Ivey Business School where he serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Taube Godard joined Wells Fargo Securities Canada in 2013 to manage and build strategic relationships with top Canadian institutional clients and to better facilitate their access to the breadth of financial solutions on the Wells Fargo Securities platform. She has over 25 years of experience in the Canadian investment banking industry, previously serving as a managing director for Barclays Canada responsible for global relationships with Canadian investors and institutional clients across asset classes. Prior to that, she was managing director and head of derivative and fixed income sales for HSBC Canada.

Wells Fargo Securities Canada launched in 2013 as a complement to the company's existing Wholesale Banking operations in Canada, which began operating in September 2012 to offer lending, treasury management, foreign exchange and trade services to commercial and corporate customers in Canada. Wells Fargo currently has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal.
