Valero Reports Unit Disruption at Port Arthur, Texas, Refinery

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) reported an operational snag and gas
emissions Monday at a unit of its refinery in Port Arthur,
Texas.
"Process unit upset," the refinery said in a filing sent to the
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "Followed procedures to
minimize emissions and mitigate upset."
It said the emissions of sulfur dioxide and other gases lasted
for about an hour Monday.
The 335,000-barrel-a-day refinery is located east of
Houston.
