Dow Jones News
Valero Energy Corp. reported flaring and a loss of feed gas to a
unit at one of its refineries in Corpus Christi, Texas.
"The Shoup Plant, a third-party facility, experienced an
unexpected power interruption, resulting in loss of feed gas to the
04 LEU unit. Flaring was required during this period," the company
said in a statement posted Wednesday on the website of the Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality.
The incident affected the Bill Greehey refineries complex's
210,000 barrel-a-day West Plant. The flaring began Tuesday
afternoon and ended later that night, Valero said.
It wasn't clear if production was affected. Representatives from
Valero weren't immediately available.
