RIO DE JANEIRO -(Dow Jones)- Brazilian mobile phone company Vivo (VIVT4.BR), part of Spain's Telefonica Group (TEF), said Tuesday it plans to invest more than 125 million Brazilian reais ($70 million) to expand its services to reach all cities in Brazil's Amazonas state, in the country's north, by 2012. The expansion in Amazonas will include the interconnection of the state's radio frequencies with Brazil's national network and growth in satellite services to allow voice and data transmission in areas of difficult access, Vivo said in a statement. Vivo has invested BRL1 billion in services in northern Brazilian states since 2006 and currently has 38.3% of market share in the region, with 6.5 million clients, it said. -By Diana Kinch, Dow Jones Newswires; 55 21 2586 6086; diana.kinch@dowjones.com
