CHICAGO, March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Two Valspar (NYSE:
VAL) paint brands received top scores from a leading consumer
publication.
Valspar Reserve® was the highest scoring zero-VOC paint
and was followed by the Valspar Signature® formulation. Moreover,
it's the third consecutive year that Signature has, as a result of
the publication's testing, earned a coveted consumer
recommendation.
The rigorous testing, according to the magazine, included
scrubbing the finishes with harsh abrasives to measure resistance
to wear, and each paint also was evaluated on performance levels
based on hide, surface smoothness, resistance to staining, gloss
change, sticking, mildew and fading.
The category review was conducted as part of an editorial focus
on how to boost a home's value with easy upgrades, such as
painting. Although the testing was limited to interior paints, in
suggesting ways to spruce up a home's curb appeal, the editors also
called out Valspar DuraMax Semi-Gloss as a top-performing exterior
paint.
"Everyone at Valspar diligently works to produce the highest
quality paint product possible. So, when our paints pass such
critical testing with flying colors like this, it's a moment we all
take pride in. It's the best validation possible that we're
delivering on our commitment," said Heidi
Petz, Valspar vice president of marketing.
