LONDON--Unilever PLC (ULVR.LN) said Wednesday that it has issued bonds in European markets worth 1.25 billion euros ($1.36 billion).

The consumer products company said the bonds comprise EUR750 million floating rate notes, due June 2018 and EUR500 million 1.0% fixed rate notes, due June 2023.

Unilever intends to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes.

London listed shares of Unilever at 1535 GMT were trading 1.8% higher at 2,905 pence.
