UBS Wealth Management Americas announced that four representatives from UBS Equity Plan Advisory Services (EPAS) have been selected as key speakers for the Global Equity Organization’s (GEO’s) upcoming 2015 National Equity Compensation Forum (NECF), to be held from September 14 – 16 in Scottsdale, AZ. GEO is a worldwide, independent nonprofit organization of equity plan professionals of which EPAS is a founding member. Since its inception in 1999, GEO has grown to more than 4,500 members globally.

“At EPAS, we believe that advancing knowledge and sharing insights are key to achieving positive outcomes for both equity plan sponsors and their employees,” said Michael Barry, head of EPAS. “We are proud to sponsor this year’s National Equity Compensation Forum and excited to participate in the programming.”

Thierry Vo, Director of Strategy for EPAS, will offer his insights on the panel “Currencies and Global Money Movement,” which discusses options for managing global payments to equity plan participants, on September 15. Having spent over 12 years in the equity compensation world, Vo has extensive experience in designing flexible solutions to meet evolving needs. He is an active member of GEO who previously served on the organization’s Board of Directors, and who frequently speaks on industry topics.

Emily Van Hoorickx, a Managing Director in Wealth Management, will contribute her knowledge to the panel “Executive Rewards: Energizing your Communications for Impact and Results” on September 15. During this panel, industry experts will discuss best practices for communicating executive rewards in ways that drive engagement and motivation. A financial services veteran with over 30 years of wealth management experience at UBS, Van Hoorickx specializes in comprehensive financial planning with a focus on equity compensation. Van Hoorickx, a Certified Financial Planner™ and Certified Equity Professional (CEP), leads the Silicon Valley Investment Group (SVIG) based in San Jose, CA, and has been recognized as an industry leader multiple times, including being named one of Barron’s Top 100 Women Financial Advisors six years in a row (2010 – 2015).* She has served on the advisory board of Santa Clara University’s Certified Equity Professional Institute (CEPI)—which has certified nearly 1600 CEPs—for over two decades, including two tenures as chair.

Julie Vander Veen, Head of Relationship Management for EPAS, and Maria DeAndrea, Head of Client Solutions for EPAS, will lend their expertise to the panel “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Tying Equity Awards to Retirement” on September 16. This interactive session will discuss challenges and strategies for rewarding long service employees with favorable termination provisions on or after retirement age. Vander Veen has over 20 years of experience in financial services and, in her current role, leads the corporate client experience, proactively delivering insights to keep pace with industry change. DeAndrea, who has been with UBS for more than 14 years, possesses a breadth of experience—through roles including Stock Option Team Manager, Client Service Manager, and Product Development Manager—that gives her a unique perspective and informs the practical information she delivers.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to share learnings gained through our research and experience, we look forward to delving into topics that are both vital to the industry and relevant to our clients,” said Vander Veen.
