Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) has hired two advisers in the
Houston area from rival UBS AG's (UBS, UBSN.VX) U.S. retail
brokerage, where they managed more than $300 million in client
assets, according to their new firm.
Starting this week, Robert Higley and Robert Gardner III are now
working out of the Wells Fargo Advisors branch in Memorial City,
Texas.
Mr. Higley started his career at Rotan Mosle in 1973, and stayed
with the firm after its acquisition by PaineWebber, according to
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records. In the following
three decades he worked for PaineWebber, Dain Rauscher and LPL
before joining UBS in 2010, Finra records show.
Mr. Gardner III joined UBS in 1995 and remained there until his
move to Wells Fargo, according to Finra records.
A UBS spokesman confirmed the departures but declined to comment
further.
