Among the companies with shares expected to actively trade in Wednesday's session are Time Warner Inc. (TWX), Duke Energy Corp. (DUK) and Mondelez International Inc. (MDLZ).

Time Warner raised its earnings outlook, as the media company's revenue increased a bigger-than-expected 3% on growth at the Turner and Home Box Office cable segments. Shares rose 4% to $78 in premarket trading.

Duke Energy said its third-quarter revenue edged up 2.9%, though earnings were hurt by unfavorable weather, along with plant outages and higher costs in Latin America. Shares fell 1.5% to $81 premarket.

Mondelez said its third-quarter earnings fell 11%, as the snack maker was hit by weaker revenue. But the bottom line was stronger than expected, and the company raised its profit outlook for the year. Shares gained 4.8% to $36.70 premarket.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK) said its third-quarter profit more than tripled, as the company posted sharply higher revenue in its natural-gas and oil segment and increased production. Shares were up 3.3% to $21.99 premarket.

Zulily inc. (ZU) on Tuesday projected fourth-quarter revenue that mostly missed analyst's expectations, sending shares down 12.8% to $31.35 premarket.

Carlyle Group LP (CG) agreed to buy financial data company Dealogic in a deal valued at about $700 million. Shares were inactive premarket.

Covidien PLC (COV) said its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings jumped 39% on stronger surgical products sales, as the company moves toward completing its merger with medical-device maker Medtronic Inc. (MDT). Covidien's shares were inactive premarket.

Quest Diagnostics Inc. (DGX) said it expects its earnings to increase 8% to 10% on average over the next three years, with revenue rising by a smaller percentage.

Spectra Energy Corp. (SE) said its third-quarter profit fell 23%, reporting weaker-than-expected revenue as plant turnarounds and the weaker Canadian dollar hurt earnings.

NRG Energy Inc. (NRG) said its third-quarter profit jumped 41%, as the power generator posted higher revenue. But the company lowered its full-year guidance, citing a lack of summer weather events.

Raytheon Co. (RTN) said it acquired surveillance and cybersecurity company Blackbird Technologies for $420 million.

21st Century Fox Inc. (FOXA) on Tuesday said its cable networks and film division drove earnings growth in the latest quarter, offsetting weakness at its television segment.

Walgreen Co. (WAG) said same-store sales rose 5.6% in October, topping analysts' expectations, as pharmacy sales drove much of the growth.

Level 3 Communications Inc. (LVLT) swung to a profit in its third quarter, driven by strength in its core network services in North and Latin America.

Wellcare Health Plans Inc. (WCG) said its revenue rose in the most recent period, as the insurer's membership rolls grew.

Activision Blizzard Inc. (ATVI) reported a better-than-expected revenue increase of 78% in the third quarter, boosted by the new sci-fi shooter game "Destiny" and continued growth in its mobile business.

CBS Outdoor Americas Inc. (CBSO) said third-quarter revenue edged down slightly, as softer national trends were offset by solid local growth and notable improvement internationally.

Devon Energy Corp.'s (DVN) third-quarter profit surged as the oil and gas company's revenue nearly doubled, boosted by higher production and prices.

EOG Resources Inc.'s (EOG) third-quarter earnings more than doubled, as the natural-gas and oil producer benefited from higher production.

FireEye Inc.'s (FEYE) third-quarter loss more than doubled, even as the cybersecurity company reported billings surged amid a series of reported cyberattacks.

Travel-lodging site HomeAway Inc.'s (AWAY) third-quarter profit fell 42%, hurt by higher expenses, even as the company recorded an increase in listings and a better ratio of revenue per listing.

Eastman Kodak Co. (KODK) posted its first profit since emerging from bankruptcy protection last year as a pared-down technology company focusing on commercial imaging, which includes digital printers and motion-picture film.

Liberty Media Corp. (LMCA) reported its third-quarter revenue and operating earnings improved, largely driven by contributions from the media company's stake in satellite radio company SiriusXM Holdings Inc.

Pioneer Natural Resources Co. (PXD) said its third-quarter net income surged, as the company saw success from horizontal drilling at its Spraberry/Wolfcamp operations in West Texas.

TripAdvisor Inc.'s (TRIP) third-quarter profit, slid as a surge in expenses weighed on an increase in revenue, which was boosted by its recent acquisition of tours company Viator Inc. but partially offset by click-based revenue that the company said was lower than expected.
