DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Sony Corp. (6758.TO) is negotiating to acquire country music label Big Machine Label Group, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing two unnamed people with knowledge of the talks. The people said Big Machine could fetch more than $200 million, though negotiations are at an early stage and an agreement might not be completed. One of the people said Universal Music Group might also enter the bidding, the report said. It said Liz Young, a spokeswoman for Sony Music in New York, declined to comment, and Nikki Burns, a spokeswoman for Big Machine, couldn't comment.
