LONDON--Ireland-based oil and gas explorer Providence Resources PLC (PZQA.DB) said Monday it signed a strategic exploration agreement with Schlumberger Ltd. (SLB) in respect of the southern Porcupine and Goban Spur basins, in which Schlumberger will provide access to specific state-of-the-art technology.

Providence's licence portfolio includes seven exploration prospects around Ireland.
