SK Telecom Co. (SKM), South Korea's largest mobile carrier by revenue, said Thursday that it has no intention to bid for U.S. online video site Hulu.

"We are not bidding for Hulu," said a SK Telecom spokesman. The comment came after Reuters reported Wednesday that SK Telecom is believed to be preparing for an initial bid, citing one of the people close to the sale process.

According to the report, the deadline for initial bids in the auction for Hulu was extended from Wednesday until the end of the week to allow interested parties more time to examine the online video site's financial information, Reuters said. Yahoo Inc. (YHOO), Google Inc. (GOOG), DirecTV Group Inc. (DTV) and Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) are among the parties preparing to submit an offer.
