Tracy Elizabeth Nolan has been named president and general
manager for Sprint (NYSE: S) in Illinois and Wisconsin. This is a
newly created position that will enable Sprint to devote more
resources and focus to key cities in the Midwest, including Chicago
and Milwaukee.
Nolan will have responsibilities for sales strategy, network
oversight, customer service, marketing communications and general
operations in Illinois and Wisconsin. With Nolan’s appointment as
the company’s first local area president, the company will develop
market-specific offerings to reflect the unique needs of customers
across the consumer and business segments in Illinois and
Wisconsin.
A large part of her responsibilities will include supporting
Sprint for Chicago, an initiative that is expected to bring network
enhancement, job creation, retail store expansion, significant
marketing and advertising spending, and civic investment to the
Chicagoland area. The investment includes opening 115 new stores
and the addition of approximately 540 new jobs.
“We expect customers in Illinois and Wisconsin will be the real
winners as they reap the benefits of Tracy’s track record as a
leader and innovator,” said Jaime Jones, president of Postpaid
Consumer and General Business for Sprint. “Her knowledge of the
area and passion for excellent customer experience should further
strengthen Sprint’s position in the Midwest – an important
geographical area for us.”
Nolan is based in Chicago and will direct a team of more than
900 employees spanning sales, customer care, operations, network,
finance, legal, IT and marketing. Nolan’s position will help Sprint
focus and listen to customers and respond with solutions regarding
devices, services and price plans.
“I look forward to responding dynamically to emerging trends,
customer preferences and the unique demands of consumers and
businesses in this region in real time,” said Nolan. ”I have a
long-time connection to this area and can’t wait to build and unify
a dedicated team to serve it. We will constantly be reflecting on
the customer’s needs, interests and purchasing appetite in this
region.”
Nolan, a former president of Verizon Wireless for the
Illinois/Wisconsin area, comes to Sprint most recently from Hyla
Mobile, formerly eRecycling Corp., where she was senior vice
president of Carrier Operations and Business Development and
supported the Verizon account. She has also served as chief
operating officer for American Communications Network.
