TEWKSBURY, Mass., Nov. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) today announced a new partnership with the USO (United Service Organizations). Under terms of the agreement, Raytheon will provide a $100,000 donation to the United Service Organizations, or USO, to support the non-profit's Transition 360 Alliance, a collaborative initiative designed to help military service members and their families successfully transition into civilian life.

This critically important funding will expand the USO's employment programming for transitioning service members and their spouses through workshops, personalized career coaching and virtual counseling.

"Service members deserve a strong network of support to help them make a successful move into civilian life," said Wes Kremer, president at Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business. "Separation from the military can be an overwhelming experience. Our partnership with the USO will help provide transitioning service members with additional resources needed to reintegrate into their communities and ensure they are prepared for the next phases of their careers."

The U.S. Department of Defense estimates that more than 250,000 service members will transition back into civilian communities in each of the next five years. The USO Transition 360 Alliance helps service members and their families build a roadmap to navigate the journey that follows their service. Whether it is a service member who is moving home to live with his or her parents after only four years of service, or a family that has spent 25 years in the military, the alliance's programs help in a variety of situations.

"When we launched USO Transition 360 Alliance last year, we focused on how to best provide essential support for service members and their families to navigate through the transition process," said Michael Hoar, USO vice president of Corporate Alliances. "With supporters like Raytheon, the USO is able to provide quality resources to our men and women in uniform, during a time that can be particularly daunting."
