Leading in-memory datastore serves up data
faster for continuous business optimization
Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open
source solutions, today announced the general availability of Red
Hat JBoss Data Grid 7. The latest version of Red Hat's leading
in-memory data management technology, which can be used as a
distributed cache, NoSQL database, or event broker, introduces
enhancements to help organizations generate insights for continuous
business optimization through real-time data analytics,
contributing to greater agility and competitiveness.
In today's digital world, opportunities to engage with customers
can be fleeting. Organizations that are unable to quickly recognize
and respond to these opportunities risk losing customers and
revenue to competitors. This competitive edge is driven by the
ability to collect, analyze, and act on data as it is generated,
during the moment of customer interaction, and the speed necessary
to seize these business opportunities can only be obtained through
in-memory computing.
Cited as a leader in The Forrester Wave™: In-Memory Data Grids,
Q3 2015, JBoss Data Grid combines high performance with
enterprise-class scale and flexibility, offering customers a
powerful tool that can deliver data at the moment it is needed for
real-time analysis.
JBoss Data Grid 7 addresses the need for faster data processing
and more responsive applications by introducing new integration
with Apache Spark, an open source framework for developing
data-intensive applications. Spark processes data in-memory, and
when paired with an in-memory data store such as JBoss Data Grid,
helps eliminate traditional bottlenecks. JBoss Data Grid is also
now fully supported as a Hadoop-compliant data source. Support for
Hadoop InputFormat and OutputFormat enables the use of many
analytics tools that integrate with the Hadoop I/O format.
Additional enhancements in JBoss Data Grid 7 include simplified
distributing computing operations based on the Java 8 stream API,
remote task and script execution, expanded polyglot support, and
various ease-of-use and administration improvements.
With its speed, scale, and high availability, JBoss Data Grid is
an ideal data platform to complement JBoss Enterprise Application
Platform, Red Hat's industry-leading open source Java EE 7
compliant application platform, to help organizations reduce or
eliminate data bottlenecks.

“For many organizations today, the primary challenge they face
with big data is no longer storage volume, but rather how fast they
can process data. Paired with an in-memory data processing engine
like Spark, JBoss Data Grid can be used as a platform for real-time
data analytics, contributing to faster and more effective customer
engagements.”
Your Business Is Only As Fast As Your Data, March 2016 Forrester
Report
“Thanks to cloud computing and the mobile mind shift,
executives, employees, partners and customers are connected and
empowered to access information and communicate. This open, always
on, and ready ecosystem demands real-time access to trusted data.
As a result, enterprise architects must cope with new complex
requirements for users, applications, and processes regarding the
availability of business data. Any data bottleneck in this digital
network can mean millions in lost revenue due to missed sales
opportunities, customer defection, inefficient supply chains, and
uninformed strategic decisions.”
