In connection with the executive changes previously announced in September
2015, Jeffery S. Gentry, Executive Vice President of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, referred to as RJR Tobacco, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Reynolds American Inc., indicated that he planned to retire in the first half of 2016. On
March 24, 2016, Dr. Gentry provided written notice to RJR Tobacco of his intent to retire on April 30, 2016.
