Koninklijke Philips N.V. (PHIA.AE) said Wednesday it has formed a new business--Healthcare Informatics Solutions and Services--offering hospitals and health systems customized clinical programs, advanced data analytics and interoperable, cloud-based platforms necessary for new models of care.

The new business will partner with healthcare providers to improve access, lower cost and enhance quality across the continuum of care, from screening and diagnosis, to treatment and monitoring, and finally after-care at home, Philips said.

Healthcare Informatics Solutions and Services will be led by Jeroen Tas, who previously served as the chief information officer of Philips.

Philips also said its North America Healthcare unit has set-up of its sales organization to better support the changing healthcare marketplace and customers in this geography.
