WHO:

  Families, individuals and first responders in need of personal care items, cleaning products or laundry services in the wake of the recent historic flooding in Louisiana.  

WHAT:

The Tide Loads of Hope fleet has been deployed to support the relief efforts in Louisiana. The early-responder Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry vehicle arrived to begin laundry services on August 19th, providing free full-service laundry to residents in Louisiana affected by the recent flooding. Beginning August 25th, the Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry vehicle will be joined by the extended capacity semi-truck in response to the high demand for ongoing relief efforts. Residents can bring clothes (up to two loads per household) to be washed, dried and folded free of charge for those in the directly affected areas. All washable clothing types can be accepted with the exception of heavy bedding. In addition, P&G will also be providing personal care kits containing items such as Secret deodorant, Crest toothpaste and Pantene shampoo as well as household cleaning products like Bounty, Mr. Clean and Swiffer. WHY:

Historic storms hit southern Louisiana and Mississippi between August 10th and 13th, devastating thousands of families and homes. As many residents have been forced from their homes, they are currently without basic needs and resources. P&G has a history of giving back to the communities where we live and work, and we wanted to provide some everyday essentials to those who need it most. These services are free and available to people affected by the disaster and the volunteers that are helping to respond.  

WHERE:

Starting on Thursday, August 25th, the Tide Loads of Hope extended capacity semi-truck will be located at:   Denham Springs Sam's Club 201 Bass Pro Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726   Additionally, Tide Loads of Hope personnel will be distributing personal care kits on Thursday, August 25th from a nearby Home Depot, located at:   Home Depot 10300 Coursey Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70816

WHEN:

Starting on Thursday, August 25th, 300+ loads of laundry per day (two loads per household) will be collected from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sam’s Club location.  

ABOUT TIDE LOADS OF HOPE:

In 2005, P&G launched Tide Loads of Hope to provide much needed laundry services to families affected by Hurricane Katrina. Since that time, Tide Loads of Hope has washed more than 60,000 loads of laundry for more than 45,000 families impacted by disasters around the world. The early-responder Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry unit is outfitted with 12 high-efficiency Whirlpool Duet washers and dryers (six of each) with the capacity to do up to 100 loads of laundry a day. The extended capacity semi-truck is outfitted with 32 energy-efficient Whirlpool washers (16 of each) with the capacity to do up to 300 loads of laundry a day.
