DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Dish Network Corp. (DISH) may consider a partnership with or purchase of a wireless-communications carrier such as Sprint Nextel Corp. (S) or Clearwire Corp. (CLWR), Bloomberg News quoted the satellite-TV provider's chief executive as saying Friday. "We'll look at partnerships, acquisitions, all of the above," Joseph Clayton told the news service in an interview. Asked whether that could include buying or partnering with Clearwire or Sprint, he said: "Could be." Dish earlier this year bought TerreStar Networks and DBSD North America Inc. out of bankruptcy, and it needs a wireless network to use spectrum acquired in those deals. Colorado-based Dish in August requested U.S. government permission to offer mobile high-speed Internet service to its customers. "There are several missing pieces," Bloomberg quoted Clayton as saying. "Wireless infrastructure, additional technology capabilities and even distribution are pieces that we're still working on. Stay tuned." Full story at http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-23/dish-could-acquire-or-partner-with-wireless-company-ceo-clayton-says.html -Dow Jones Newswires; 212-416-2900
