Brazil's Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PBR), or Petrobras, reported problems with a compressor and excess emissions at its refinery in Pasadena, Texas.

In a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the refinery said the West Flare gas recovery compressor system stopped recovering gas. "The root cause of the trip is being investigated," it added.

Petrobras said that once the flare gas recovery compressors were put back on line, "excess emissions ceased."

Petrobras' 110,000-barrel-a-day refinery is located in the Houston area.
