Denmark's Novo Nordisk A/S, the world's largest maker of insulin, said Friday it is investing DKK750 million in new laboratories for diabetes research in Denmark.

Construction has started, and the new laboratory facility is expected to be ready for occupation in early 2016.

The new facility will accommodate approximately 350 employees. During the construction phase, the project is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs outside Novo Nordisk.
