Microsoft Raises Quarterly Dividend by 5 Cents

Dow Jones News
Microsoft Corp., which in the latest period logged its largest
quarterly loss, is raising its quarterly dividend by five cents,
the company said Tuesday.
The new dividend, of 36 cents a share, will be paid out in
December.
The Redmond, Wash., company typically generates most of its
revenue—and profit—from sales of the Windows operating system,
Office, databases and other corporate software. But its results
have been weighed down by costs tied to its Nokia mobile-phone
business acquisition last year.
Shares, down 5% this year, edged up 0.39% to $44.15 in late
trading.
