Volunteers from Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems used modern 3-D printing processes to manufacture parts of affordable prosthetic hands. STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) students from Will Rogers Middle School will be at the company’s Redondo Beach campus to assemble the parts into completed, functioning hands that will be donated to children in need. The students will experience the latest in manufacturing techniques while also supporting a worthy cause. Additionally, Oct. 7 is National Manufacturing Day, which this effort helps support.
