-- Acting Under Secretary of the Air Force, Lisa S. Disbrow, and top Department of Defense
space officials met with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC)
leadership at the company's Space Park facility Thursday. Their
tour follows discussions held at Space Park last week during a
visit by Secretary of the Air Force Deborah
Lee James and Lt. Gen. Samuel
Greaves, commander of the Air Force Space and Missile
Systems Center.
Thursday's visit featured a tour of Northrop Grumman's work on
key Air Force space programs, including the Advanced Extremely High
Frequency System (AEHF), Global Positioning System III (GPS III)
and the Low Cost Terminal (LCT).
Joining Under Secretary Disbrow at Northrop Grumman were
Assistant Secretary of Defense (Acquisition), Katrina McFarland; Deputy Undersecretary of the
Air Force (Space), Winston
Beauchamp; Director, Air Force Future Operations, Maj. Gen.
Martin Whelan; Director, Air Force
Space Programs, Maj. Gen. Roger

address these threats with highly innovative, capable and
affordable solutions," said Jeff
Grant, vice president and general manager, Space Systems,
Northrop Grumman. "I thank Under Secretary Disbrow, Ms. McFarland
and the rest of this distinguished group of leaders for taking time
to discuss the unique approaches our team is developing."
The visit included a discussion of Northrop Grumman's approach
to GPS III that would enhance the program's ability to improve
critical warfighter resilience. Also featured were Northrop
Grumman's AEHF and Enhanced Polar System (EPS) payload programs and
the EHF LCT. As the implementation of these elements is completed,
they enable critical nuclear command and control for the country's
strategic forces and protected tactical communications for our
nation's warfighters in contested environments.
"It is imperative we continue on the path defined by AEHF, EPS
LCT and a modern GPS payload to address the evolving threats to our
warfighters and our space assets," Grant said.
