NIKE, Inc. (NYSE: NKE) today announced the following general management appointments to drive continued innovation and strong consumer connections globally.

Nike names Phil McCartney VP, GM of Nike Footwear, effective June 1, 2016. McCartney has 19 years of Nike experience across geographies and multiple categories and will continue to work with category teams, product development, design, and merchandising.

Tom Peddie, currently VP, GM of Emerging Markets, is appointed to the role of VP, GM of Integrated Marketplace North America, effective July 1, 2016. Peddie has driven strong growth across the Emerging Markets and now will take an elevated leadership role in driving a holistic integrated marketplace strategy in North America.

Ann Hebert is named VP, GM of Emerging Markets, beginning July 1, 2016. Hebert has served in key management positions in DTC, Sales, Category, and Merchandising and will continue to elevate and create separation in the marketplace.

Christophe Merkel is appointed VP, GM of Nike Japan. Merkel, currently GM of Nike Turkey, will lead the team to continue driving strong consumer connections in this important market. Merkel’s appointment is effective July 1, 2016.

Additionally, Jim Reynolds, currently VP, GM of Nike Japan, has been named VP, GM of Athletic Specialty, effective June 2016. Reynolds has led strong business growth in Japan and will now focus on driving Nike’s integrated marketplace strategy against Athletic Specialty globally.

McCartney will report to Michael Spillane, President, Product and Merchandising; Peddie will report to Joaquin Hidalgo, VP, GM of North America; Hebert and Merkel will report to Elliott Hill, President, Geographies and Integrated Marketplace, NIKE, Inc.; and Reynolds will report to Mike Best, VP, Global Sales.
