Financial Services Advisory and Compliance leader recognized for Excellence in Leadership

Navigant (NYSE: NCI) today announced that Ellen Zimiles, leader of the firm’s Financial Services Advisory and Compliance segment and head of the Global Investigations and Compliance practice, is recognized by Consulting magazine among the “Top 25 Consultants.” Zimiles was selected among 400 nominees considered for this recognition, and is honored for her excellence in leadership on the publication’s annual list of the most influential consultants in the profession.

Zimiles oversees a growing revenue segment with 300 consultants. Under her leadership, Navigant has become a trusted advisor and go-to resource for global banks confronting the post-Dodd-Frank regulatory environment as well as a partner to governments seeking monitors to ensure compliance with consent decrees.

“Ellen exemplifies the traits of a true leader, she is an invaluable contributor on Firm matters, spearheads growth for a broad segment, and balances the demanding technical details of compliance while leading the organization and mentoring her team,” stated Lee Spirer, Executive Vice President and Global Business Leader. “Given the frequency of eight figure fines and criminal prosecution as outcomes of regulatory actions in financial services, Ellen’s tireless work for her clients adds a degree of difficulty for her leading with excellence. In addition, Ellen’s commitment to mentoring people both inside and outside of Navigant is inspiring and I am proud that she is a key player on our team.”

Zimiles has more than 25 years of litigation and investigation experience. As an assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of New York for more than 10 years, she served in the civil and criminal divisions and was chief of the forfeiture unit for more than six years. She was responsible for many high-profile money laundering, fraud and forfeiture cases. Zimiles’ experience also includes the development of anti-money laundering programs, corporate governance, regulatory and corporate compliance, fraud control, and public corruption matters. She has worked with a multitude of financial institutions preparing for regulatory exams, developing remediation programs and assisting organizations as a regulatory liaison. She is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and university graduate schools.

“I am humbled by this recognition, and I look forward to helping drive additional success for Navigant and our clients as they contend with complex business challenges,” said Zimiles.

The 2016 Consulting magazine Top 25 Consultant honorees will be recognized at a gala awards dinner at The Mandarin Oriental in New York on June 16.
