DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Molina Healthcare Inc. (MOH) agreed to acquire Unisys Corp.'s (UIS) health-information outsourcing business for $135 million, which will expand its services beyond Medicaid managed care. Unisys' health-information management unit outsources state governments' Medicaid management information systems and its business includes contracts in Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, New Jersey and West Virginia. It also provides drug-rebate administration services for Medicaid in Florida. Molina President and Chief Executive J. Mario Molina said, "For the first time, Molina Healthcare will have, within a single company, the tools our state partners need to run their Medicaid programs, ranging from full-risk managed care health plans to fee-based information technology solutions." Molina plans to pay for the deal, expected to close in the first half of this year, using its credit facility. Unisys has agreed to provide transitional and technology support to Molina for up to a year. The business has annual revenue of about $110 million. Unisys has been suffering for years with stagnant results amid declining sales for its proprietary computer systems as customers moved to standardized platforms. Molina and Unisys shares closed Friday at $23.20 and $34.97, respectively. Neither traded premarket. Markets were closed Monday for the Martin Luther King holiday. -By Tess Stynes, Dow Jones Newswires; 212-416-2481; Tess.Stynes@dowjones.com;
