MetLife Nepal made the first life insurance claims settlement for the victim of the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25th 2015. The claim was intimated by telephone to the MetLife office and settled on the same day. The policy-owner deceased after the building collapsed due to the earthquake in Chisapani.

The Chairman of Insurance Board Dr. Fatta Bahadur KC handed over the insurance claim cheque to the beneficiary at MetLife Nepal’s Head Office in Pulchowk, Lalitpur. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the importance of life insurance during such catastrophic event. He also appreciated the efforts of MetLife for proactive and speedy settlement of the claim.

MetLife has temporarily opened a help desk service for its policy holders for any claims or policy related assistance at the premises of their Head Office in Pulchowk. Policy holders who want to make claims can visit MetLife Head Office for further assistance. They can also call hotline 9751056520.

Also, MetLife Foundation announced that it is making a contribution of US$250,000 to International Medical Corps’ Nepal Earthquake Fund, which is already at work on the ground providing vital relief supplies to those in need, lifesaving healthcare services to the survivors of the earthquake and critical training to medical first responders.
